Mini Haul and Update

Ok so heres the "mini HAUL" I've been meaning to do since FOREVER! LOL my bad!! I just bought a couple of nail polish, hair products and facial cream that I'd like to do a review about to give ya'll the heads up with the good and the bad!...

The nail polish I bought were by Sally Hansen: White out, Rockstar pink, Fuchsia power, Black out, Hot magenta and Gunmetal... Honestly I really LOVE all the colors they are REALLLLLLY REALLLLY CUTE!! The only thing I don't like about it is that I have to put more then 1 sometimes 2 coats. Especially for the white out I need to go over it like 3-4 times but other then that the finishing is pretty glossy except for "rockstar pink" (which is actually one of my FAVS!!) its so sparkly BUT its a hassle and ANNOYING TO REMOVE!! But when it chips its really easy to touchup without being so noticeable! LOL and its super duper cute on the toes!! <333

And as for the hair products The shampoo and conditioner I got was by "organix" I got coconut milk which helps restore and re-hydrate the hair and the other conditioner I got was citrus mango which helps it from frizzing I use this one mainly for my deep condition! But yes honestly I highly recommend that you try these products out!!! My hair really looks more healthy and ALIVE again because of this product not only is it natural, organic and made with proteins and oils its laureth sulfate FREE! So its safe to use EVERYDAY if yu have to especially 'cos its summer and you want to shower its not hurtful for yur hair for everyday use :) I also bought another bottle of John friedas frizz-ease hair serum if ya'll don't already know I SWEAR by this product it honestly does what it says it will do I LOVE THIS PRODUCT FOREVER !!! LOL

Last but not least I got the garnier facial cream I normally use nivea but I wanted to try something new. I've been using this now for some time now and its not bad it still kinda leaves the side of my nose dry but yeah I wouldn't mind buying this product again!...

and as for my mini update!
- I'd like to congratulate my cousin who just gave birth to a beautiful babygirl on July 15th! Shes mixed half Filipina and half Ecuadorian hehe shes so tiny and precious <333

and thats basically it! LOL nothing special its SUMMER so I'm trying to have as much fun as I can before school starts and finish up my school year! But after I'm done I do plan on going back again!! which is a total FML cos I hate school but I figured hay since I'm young I might as well go to school so when I'm older I have options! I love when I have many options to choose from :)

anyways peace and love ya'll enjoy your summer and STAY SAFE AND COOOOOOLLLLLLLL*

HAIR REGIMEN 2010

NTM = Neutrogena Triple Moisture
EVCC = Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
EVOO = Extra Virgin Olive Oil
S&C = Shampoo & Conditioner
NST = Natural Silk Therapy

Ok so heres the deal I no longer co-wash my hair because I realized it doesn't really make sense to co-wash it with conditioner! It doesn't completely wash off all the chemicals in yur hair it just builds up some more. So that's one of the reasons why I no longer co-wash!

But anyways this is my current hair regimen:
I S&C my hair 1x week (which is a Sunday) w/ NTM & switch it up 1x month w/ Garnier Fructis "Long & Strong"
I like to switch up my S&C because I don't want my hair to get used to the NTM products. And also because since NTM doesn't have any laureth sulfate in it, it may not remove the build up in my hair 100% however Garnier does have laureth sulfate and I don't want to use that all the time because it is bad for the hair but also I like to use it 1x month because it will remove the build up in my hair 100x more then NTM would (in my opinion). So I do this the last sunday of each month!

I deep condition my hair 1x week (ever Sunday) before my wash w/ EVOO mixed in a hair mask
So what I do is take my EVOO and put it in my hair first, then I take my NST hair mask by mon platin and I leave it on my head for 45mins-1hr. But if I don't have NST (if it where to run out) then I'd sub. my NTM deep recovery hair mask for it!

And every night before I go to bed I spray some water in my hair (ONLY if it's dry) then put my EVCO in my hair and wrap it up in a satin scarf!
And then in the morning when I get up I put my NTM silk touch leave-in cream (I LOVE LOVEE LOVEEE THIS STUFF!! LOL)

And there yu have it! I plan on buying mixed chicks leave in cream sometime next week though! I heard alot of positive as well as a few negative reviews about it but I don't know I'd like to check it out myself :)

And also I plan on investing in a "split ender" same deal I heard alot of goods and alot of bads about it but again I'd also like to check it out for myself :) if any of yu heard about it or actually tried it please let me know what yu think about it!?

MY JORNEY IN 2009-2010 (NL-SL)

NL = Neck Lengeth
SL = Shoulder Length
APL = Arm Pit Length
BSL = Bra Strap Length
(If ya dont know now yu know.. lol)

Whoa!!

Ok so I was lookin' back at old photos from when I USED to have SL-APL hair that was DRY, BRITTLE, SPLIT-ENDED, BLEACHED, DYED, OVER-PROCESSED, UNHEALTHY, THINNIN', DEAD HAIR and I decided to CHOP it all off (by accident :P) around Feb. 2009 to NL and I started transition from unhealthy to healthy beautiful hair! ;) hahahaa seriously though

I'm not gonna lie I was sad the day I cut my hair off but today I'm actually glad I did it because my hair is so much more healthier, and thicker and I am now a SL I'm sorta LOVEIN' IT! I just wish it was longer though LOL...

And that's why I decided to do a hair journey part 2 'cause my new goal is to get BSL hair and also because my hair is damaging again I started straightening it again and now I'm having SO MUCH SPLIT ENDS :( they won't friggin' go away! boohoo anyways I just wanted to share some photos of my transition haha enjoy..

It did take some time for it to grow out but it did! The first photo is when I first did the "big chop" and then so on and so on and obvy the last photo is the most recent photo... I plan to start my next journey sometime next week so stay tuned :P

Hair Journey Part 2? haha yeah I think so!

NL = Neck Length
SL = Shoulder Length
BSB = Below Shoulder Blade
BSL = Bra Strap Length
(FYI! lol)

Ok so I'm sort of disappointed... I started my first hair journey last year (February 2009) which lasted about 11 months (basically a year) and it wasn't that bad!!

When I first did the "BIG CHOP" last year I cut it NL almost close to my ears and my hair color was blondish brown. Today almost all the color is out with the new growth I still have some of the brownish color on the ends and its now SL. But in the beginning of this year (January 2010) I got lazy :( and I stopped taking care of my hair and I actually started straightening my hair again! Last year I left my hair in its natural texture 99.9% of the time, and when I saw how much I liked my hair better straight I realized how much I loved it more and missed it and continued straightening my hair till this day (March 2010). My flat iron is honestly my addiction haha it's so bad LOL! and yeah long story short last month I noticed I started having split ends yet again and last night I noticed it was split ends GALORE!! Like I had split ends for DAYS and I was like no I really need to get my hair healthy again and I set a new goal!

Last goal was to get it SL which I have achieved but it took longer then I expected I had set a time frame last year which was from Feb-June (5 Months) to make it grow from NL to SL I guess that was unrealistic because hair does take time to grow lol but yeah anyways my new goal is to make it either BSB or BSL. I actually don't plan on doing the "BIG CHOP" however I do plan on finally going for my trim! I believe my last trim was around XMAS 2009 :| HAHAHA yeah I tried stretching my monthly trims again and that was such a BAD CHOICE!! LOL I will also set a more realistic time frame, stick to my hair regime, and continue taking care of my hair!! Hopefully this time around it will work better!!

Anyways to the ladies who has already achieved their goal CONGRATS!! And those who are still on their journey KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK and GOOD LUCK :) haha!

OH YEAH and I also decided to go back to the hairlista network! For those who don't know visit my previous post go to the top were it says 'search this blog', and type "HAIRLISTA INC.'

This is the exact length that I am going for!! :)

I am so MAD at myself =(

Ok so June is here and my hair journey should be over soon...
but I've been doing so bad =(
for the last 2 months I stopped treating my hair on the regular
(I mean I still do it but not as often as I used too)
I haven't: deep conditioned it, wrap my hair in a satin scarf/cap, and gone for my monthly trims =(
All because I've been to busy and have no time.. so normally once I get home I'm to tired to do all that so I just lay down and KNOCK OUT!!
(BUT TOMORROW AFTER WORK I'M GONNA TRY MY BEST TO GO TO THE SALON AND GET MY ENDS CHOPPED OFF!! again.. I'll try my best lol)
UGHHH!! yu don't understand how upset I am with myself..
Well atleast I hadn't died my hair or straighten it, so that's a plus I guess..
But I am disappointed with the results, it hadn't grown as long as I expected it to..
Starting next month I'm gonna start my hair journey all over again..
AND THIS TIME I'M GONNA STICK TO IT (hopefully) Wish me luck... again.. *sigh =( lol

COCONUT OIL

ok SERIOUSLY I'm really in love with COCONUT OIL!!
right now I'm on a mission to grow my hair back to its natural state
I haven't died my hair in 11 months (OMG ALMOST A YEAR!!)
and I haven't used a flat iron or any heat styling tool in 7 months!!
and I'm actually really proud of my self because its killing me to leave my hair curly
and its so tempting to flat iron my hair but coconut oil made a HUGE difference on how
my hair looks and feel right now!!

NOW my hair is healthier then ever, its thicker, and it looks sooo alive it honestly looks and feels soo good
that I actually like my hair curly now!!

SO yes I SOOOO SOO SOOOO RECOMMEND COCONUT OIL!!
How I apply the coconut oil in my hair is I divide my hair in 6 different parts and apply the oil separately into those sections then I tie my hair up and wrap a satin scarf over my head (I do it manually since I don't want to use heat on my head) and I sleep with it throughout the night and in the morning I just rinse it off in luke warm water!!

oh yah and just in case yu guys are wondering I did not buy my coconut oil.. one of my grandmothers in the Philippines made it for me and my uncle just brought it back with him!!
now I get my mom to make it for me =D hahahaa its simple but its alot of workkk maybe I'll make a blog later on showing how to make yur own COCONUT OIL <3 lol

OMG I DREAMED OF THIS MY WHOLE LIFE!!

ITS A MINI FRAKIN' STRAIGHTENER!!

REVIEW: ALBERTO V05 HOT OIL TREATMENT

Ladies heres the review I've been meaning to write since I got the hot oil treatment.

So a few weeks ago I decided to try this Alberto V05 Hot Oil Hair Strengthening Treatment.
It was supposed to STRENGTHEN MY HAIR AND REDUCE MY HAIR FROM BREAKAGE (UP TO 70%!!)
HAAA, I think NOT!! personally I DO NOT LIKE IT because it made my hair feel funny after using it
and NOT ONLY THAT, GUESS WHAT!? It 'caused me to have SPLIT ENDS YET AGAIN!!
I've read other reviews recommending it and what not but maybe it worked for them but it sure as hell DID NOT WORK FOR ME.
I'm actually really disappointed at the results because now I have to trim my hair 2 weeks earlier then what I was supposed to.
Like I've been saying before, we all have different hair types and textures, some products may work well on others, and some just don't.
I'm not saying DON'T GO OUT AND GET IT (I lied thats exactly what I'm saying LOL)
but it doesn't hurt to check it out and try it for yurself who knows it may work for you!

So for those of you who actually tried the V05 Hair Treatment what are yur thoughts on "how well it works??"

HAIR CARE TIPS

Here are a few techniques that I use to help stimulate healthier hair growth.
I mean I'm no guru but these strategies actually helped my hair. These techniques may not work for you because I may have different hair texture but it doesn't hurt to try 'cause it may work...

1) START FRESH BY TRIMMING YUR ENDS!!
THATS THE NUMBER ONE RULE THAT EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT HAIR GROWTH.
as much as you don't want to cut yur hair you need to get rid of them bad girls!! especially if you have split ends THEY NEED TO BE TRIMMED OFF!!

2) Neutrogena Triple Moisture(NTM) PRODUCTS.
I LOVE LOVEE LOVEEE THIS PRODUCT and I actually use all 6 of them >=D haha

1)NTM Cream Lather Shampoo // 2)NTM Daily Deep Conditioner // 3)NTM Deep Recovery Mask (which I leave on for about 5 mins) // 4)NTM Smooth Shine Anti-Frizz Cream // 5)NTM Silk Touch Leave In and // 6)NTM Healing Shine Serum
What I love most about this product is that it actually works! I believe this really helped my hair to grow healthier too. OK so most of us know that Sodium Lauryl Sulfate is BAD for our hair (if yu don't know, now yu know.. haha RIP BIGGIE) and its found in almost EVERY SHAMPOO WE USE (get this they also use that to clean the engines in a car. YAH EWWW! and THATS STRONG and we put it in our hair without even knowing!! UGHHH!!) BUT GUESS WHAT I DISCOVERED!? after reading all the labels in the shampoo section in PharmaPlus (or any department drug store) NTM WAS THE ONLY SHAMPOO I FOUND THAT DID NOT HAVE SODIUM LAURYL SULFATE SO THATS A PLUS!! and it also left my hair nice and soft AND IT SMELLS REALLY GOOD!! yes I LOVE THE NTM FAMILY!! =D

3) NO HEAT!!
Stop curling your hair with heat theres alternatives, use a roller set it may take a long time but its worth it think about your hair. And stop using a flat iron!!
But if yu really want to use the heat utensils then don't use it as often and when doing so use heat protectors. My personal favorite is BIOSILK!! that shieeeet is the BOMB DIGGITY(HAHAHAA) I swear it never fails me it always left my hair nice, silky and smooth and it smells lovely too!!
The good thing about me not using any more heat is that my hair is THICKER NOW!! my hair used to be so thin but now the texture of my hair is better and I actually LIKE IT!! BUT its killing me not to use my flat iron =( I LOVE STRAIGHT HAIR (AND NO MY HAIR ITS NOT RELAXED ITS BIOSILK =D) (but the bright side I got 4 more months 'till I get to straighten my hair, yah that was a promise to myself. The promise that I am SO TEMPTED TO BREAK!! LOL)

4) Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO)
I love this too!! I put this on my ends 2 times a day in the morning before I style and at night before bed. It helps lock the hairs moisture in so yur hair doesn't get to dry or brittle.

5) SATIN CAP/SCARF
Its a must (in my books atleast) I always wear my hair in a protective style when I sleep I always wrap my hair in a satin scarf and then I add the satin cap for security.

6) DON'T COMB YUR HAIR DRY
THATS A DEFINITE NO NO. especially if you have curly hair! yah YUR BEGGING FOR YUR HAIR TO BREAK OFF IF YU DO THIS!! I always comb my hair in the shower with a wide tooth comb when its conditioned and wet because I found that its easier for me to comb it. but I always FINGERCOMB my hair if its dry not like all the time but to style and make sure it's not tangled! It also helps define my curls more too =)

7) DON'T WASH YUR HAIR EVERYDAY
It sounds dirty but truth be told yur not supposed to wash yur hair everyday. Yur washing away yur hairs natural oils. I wash my hair 2 days a week with my NTM FAMILY =D haha but once a month I actually wash my hair with RedKen Smooth Down Shampoo yah it does have sodium lauryl sulfate in it but that helps remove the build ups in your hair because of how strong it is thats why I use it ONCE a month.

8) DEEP CONDITION YUR HAIR
I deep condition my hair once a week. Normally with NTM Deep Recovery Mask and mix it with an egg and leave it on my hair for about 15 mins. (I bought this Alberto V05 Strengthening deep conditioner or something like that im actually going to try it out today so look out for the review!!)

9) HAVE A PROTECTIVE HAIRSTYLE
I think this helps to. When I'm at home and not going out I always have my hair in a pony tail (but make sure yur ends are covered and protected) and I leave a satin cap on my head but if I'm home and about to go out I tie my hair back and wrap a satin scarf around my head because when I unwrap the scarf it gives my hair a nice silk wavey look. It looks pretty hot!

10) WATER WATER WATER!!
Make sure to drink plenty of water. thats an old basic trick everyone knows FOR SURE. and not only is it good for yur hair its good for yur health as well as yur skin! Honestly I only drink water now, I drink juice like once a week or every 2 weeks and I noticed that my hair looks better and my COMPLEXION looks so much better then before.

+ 11) MESSAGE YUR HEAD
NOT only does it feel good but I heard it helps stimulate growth as well =D

* * *

so like I said I'm not 'MS KNOW IT ALL' but these techniques worked for me.
so yah ladies hope my hair care tips work for yu or I hope I gave yu some useful tips and information!

feel free to add anything to the list!! for those who are on a hair care journey ('cause I am LOL) Good LUCK girlies!!

Hairgrowth Progess

Hey Lovelys!!
Ok so I promised I'd post updates on how my hair is coming along...
So its been like 2 weeks since I cut my hair. I started with damaged hair and when I say damage I mean DAMAGE!! LOL

I used heat on my hair everyday to straighten it.
I bleached my hair constantly to have my blond locks
I had many split ends
I had dry, brittle and over processed hair

So on February 18 2009 I decided to take care of my hair once again so on the next day (the 19th) I decided to go for a trim WHICH LOOKED MORE LIKE A HAIR CUT I SWEAR MY HAIR WAS CUT TO MY EARS =( HAHAHAA but after a week of taking proper care of my hair I noticed some good changes!!

My hair is growing stronger and healthier then ever! and I'm so excited on how my hair will look by summer time =) these are the techniques and products that I use...

- I NO LONGER BLEACH OR DYE MY HAIR
- I NO LONGER USE HEAT UTENSILS ON MY HAIR
- I wash my hair TWICE a week with Neutrogena Triple Moisture (NTM) Shampoo follow with a NTM Deep Conditioner
- I always comb my hair in the shower with a wide tooth comb when wet. I NEVER EVER comb my hair dry because that will damage the hair more
- I then use NTM deep recovery hair mask which I leave on for like 5 mins. then rinse out
- If im going to bed or just at home I pat dry my hair then add Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) and put my hair in a protective style such as wrapping my hair up in a satin scarf and when I do go to bed I put a satin cap ontop of the scarf.
- If im going out (my hair would normally be wrapped in the satin scarf) I remove the scarf and put alittle of the John Freida frizz ease serum and alittle of the NTM shine serum then style as desired

here's a photo of how my hairs coming along...

(in the first photo you can really tell on how bad my hair is!!)

So yes my lovelys I'll continue to keep you guys posted hopefully monthly on how my hair is coming along or I'll post on my hair again the next time I trim my hair which is on April 2nd 2009!!

unbeWEAVEable...

So I was doing some youtubeing today and somehow manage to land on this interesting story...

20 year old Briana Bonds from Kansas City was literally saved by her bullet proof weave. Apparently she was going to the convenience store when coincidentally her former boyfriend was in the same parking lot as her. The ex-boyfriends friend had told her (Bonds) that her ex-boyfriend still loved her and she replied "well I don't love him", then as she was pulling away from the parking lot she then noticed her former boyfriend walked up towards her and started shooting..

Now thats some fuck'ed up shit! what is the world coming to really?
that whole situation is messed, but what matters is that shes alive and well!
but the only thing I actually find real hilarious is the fact that her weave saved her life LOL!!
(I know its nothing to laugh about) but still, seriously a weave. haha like I said it was an interesting story! lol

MY NEW HAIR REGIMEN

Ok before I said I was going to post up my hair care journey... sooo to promote healthy growth my regimen consist of the following:

Moisturizing Shampoo: I do this atleast 1-2 times a week (Tuesday &/or Friday nights) with Neutrogena Triple Moisture Cream Lather Shampoo.

Clarifying Shampoo: I do this twice a month (Beginning & Middle of each month) with RedKen Smooth Down Shampoo. (so I can remove buildup in my hair)

Moisturizing Conditioner: After every "Moisturizing Shampoo" I use Neutrogena Triple Moisture Daily Deep Conditioner then I use Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Mask which I leave on for 3 minutes then rinse out.

Clarifying Conditioner: After every "Clarifying Shampoo" I use RedKen Smooth Down Conditioner then Infusium 23 (Original) which I leave on for 3 minutes then rinse out.

Moisturizer: I do this after every wash with Extra Virgin Olive Oil (The solid one) then I wrap my hair in a silk scarf (I LOVE DOING THIS!!). In the morning I put Neutrogena Triple Moisture Silk Touch Leave In Cream then I add John Frieda Frizz Free Hair Serum and sometimes
Neutrogena Triple Moisture Healing Shine Serum and style.

THE BIG CUT!!

Ok so I finally convinced myself to trim my hair but I swear it feels and looks more like a cut to me because my hair looks so much shorter! and I HATE IT!! fcuk I feel like crying I am honestly really really sad about my hair right now but I guess I have to do it in order to maintain my hair so it can grow healthier 'cause before the cut my hair has been so dry, brittle and damaged and don't get me started about my ends.. SPLIT ENDS FOR DAYS! LOL awww its just Im verry scared of cutting my hair! and I haven't used any heat products on my hair since DECEMBER which im so proud of myself for doing but I hate leaving my hair curly =( I love having straight hair! hopefully by this summer when my hair grows back longer and healthier I will start using my flat iron! and maybe just maybe after 3 months I'll straighten my hair once a month!! ahhhh WISH ME LUCK!! *crosses fingers* lol

Im actually going to start my hair care journey so I'll keep you guys posted on that =)

Natural Curly Hair 101

Ok so this is how curly my hair is. Its actually a love and hate relationship between us and more times I hate it just because it tends to have a mind off its own. And since my hair is really dead due to bleaching, dying and using alot of heat (such as flat iron) to my hair it tends to frizz up alot and get dry.

So here is my tip for those who have hair like me =) (and I actually use a bunch of different products not all at once but it allows me to have a variety because certain things are ment for certain things.. if that makes any sense? LOL)

<---- OK let me start of with the John Frieda, I LOVE IT. I mean it helps define my curls more and what I do also use along with the whole trio that I forgot to post a picture of is the hair serum that eliminates frizz and that works as well!
<-- and while im conditioning my hair I always use a Wide Tooth Comb while in the shower I never comb my hair when dry just because it can ruin yur hair!! and plus it works for me and its way easier to comb!!
<-- There yu go this is the frizz ease hair serum that I effin' LOVE OFF! I mean don't matter what kinda hair style im using it could be straight, curly, wavey it wont ruin my hair but it fights frizz =) so this i highly recommend but its pretty expensive for such a small thing but its worth it!! Another style I like to wear my hair is wavey. When I dont want it to curly I got the wave thing going on and how I do this is by using straightening shampoo and conditioner such as Sunsilk and also to top it all off with the straightening serum! Or sometimes I dont even use the straightening shampoo and conditioner I either would use BioSilk therapy shampoo and conditioner(to make my hair have that nice silky look and it makes it shine too lol) or Redken Smooth Down Shampoo and Conditioner (to help fight frizz)....

and then what I use after washing my hair is either the straightening serum from sunsilk OR I use the Flat out straightening cream by KMS California OR Stick Straight Regimen by Graham Webb!!

And then after applying the serum to my hair I tie my hair back tightly and neatly then wrap my hair around a Satin Scarf (never use cotton because the natural oil in your hair well be absorbed into the cotton making your hair look dull and brittle)

and then in the morning just do all yur make-up unwrap the scarf and wala hair is nice and wavey... but obviously play wit it alittle and style as desired and again I use the john frieda frizz ease serum for the finished look!
and thats about it...
haha well I hope my techniques would help you out because again this is what works for me.. try it out it may work for yu as well... =)

Mix and Match - Hair Edition (lol)

Well since everyone talks about 'Black Hair' or 'Half Black & Half White Hair' what about the ladies who are 'Half Black & Half Asian'? well since I am mixed with Black/Asian I thought hey why not let me talk about hair for people who have the same hair texture as me seeing as in the beginning I found it very difficult to manage my hair and find the right style for me. Well the texture and feel of my hair is soft and very curly when I say curly I mean CURLY! lol I remember awhile back I cut my hair due to damage hair because I flat iron my hair straight almost EVERYDAY and constantly kept dying and bleaching my hair. And now my hair is growing back oh so very SLOW and it's making my sad =( so now I'm actually trying to let my hair grow back and healthier as it was before I'm gonna try to make a video diary of my hair or the process of my hair if not a diary then pictures. Every two weeks I suppose? I'm kinda getting tired right now so on the next entrie I will be talking about what products I use for my hair that I find to actually help control my curls!
